Svein's journey to a key figure at Vow showcases his dedication and love for different challenges. He began with a solid technical education and moved from a long career as a manager to a pivotal role at Vow. Now, he oversees production, works in R&D, and connects solutions for both maritime and industrial areas. Beyond work, Svein loves exploring new cultures, solving problems, and enjoying various activities. His story reflects a blend of enthusiasm, flexibility, and a strong commitment to making the future greener and more inventive.

FORGING AN ENGINEERING PATH

Starting my engineering journey was all about wanting to learn hands-on skills. I began by studying and working in Stavanger, an oil industry hub. I balanced daytime work with evening classes, earning a diploma and mastering technical design in three years. This led to a trade certificate and a strong design education. Later, vocational school and project management studies boosted my expertise.

LEADERSHIP AND MILESTONES AT VOW

I developed my leadership skills over 25 years in manufacturing, serving as both project and general manager before becoming part of what was then known as Scanship. During 2001-2013, our company emerged as Scanship's primary producer, pioneering the delivery of their wastewater system.

Joining Scanship in 2015 as an engineering manager was my initiation. Later, as Construction Manager, I gained oversight of global production, delving into R&D's realms, focusing on development, design, and production. My role spans both maritime and industrial solutions, and this hybrid role resonates deeply, allowing me to thrive in diverse environments.

PASSION, LEARNING AND ACTIVE PURSUITS

Traveling for work is an adventure, offering glimpses into diverse cultures and professional work ethics, igniting my enthusiasm. Being solution-oriented, challenges fuel my growth; however, time constraints often test my efficiency.

At Vow, daily learning from experts strengthens my work, making every day unique. Contributing to the green transition remains a driving force, recognizing our pivotal role in driving positive societal change.

A VIBRANT LIFE

Beyond professional engagements, my life is filled with vitality. Engaging in a variety of sports—running, cycling, football, tennis/padel, cross-country, and downhill skiing—fuels my active lifestyle. Exploring the Norwegian mountains in all seasons is my cherished escape.

Working with something that inspires me and at the same time doing the activities I enjoy is an important combination in my life, a great work-life balance.
